Jens Wieting of Sierra Club BC believes BC’s emissions are being seriously underreported. There are some bright spots in the province, like the city of Vancouver, but for the most part Canadian politicians are not dealing with the reality of Climate change.in the podcast below he talks about BC’s Need to confront Climate change.

BC’s Need To Confront Climate Change

In the podcast below, originally broadcast on Cortes Community Radio, he talks about the Climate Summit in New York and lays out a three point program that British Columbia could follow to bring its emissions under control.

“It is pretty frustrating to consider the lack of action over the past few years, but just this morning Ban Ki-moon is quoted as saying I will link arms with those marching for climate action. So he will be in the streets this coming weekend with the people who are coming to New York for this historic climate rally. That’s just one example that something is changing. It is also clear that we are running out of time because we have this limited carbon pollution budget and we are fast approaching dangerous thresholds,” he says.
