Vaccinations start in Campbell River

This program was funded by a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada and the Government of Canada’s Local Journalism Initiative

The arrival of an additional 3,900 doses of the Pfizer vaccine allowed Island Health to vaccinate health care workers in North and Central Vancouver Island. The vaccinations started in Campbell River.

COVID 19 this past week in North Vancouver Island

Funded by a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada and the Government of Canada’s Local Journalism Initiative

This past week was the deadliest British Columbia has seen since the pandemic began. Dr Bonnie Henry reported 24 more deaths yesterday, which brings the total number of fatalities since last Friday to 105. The number of active cases in the province is close to 10,000.

However, there is also good news.

A fortress breached: COVID-19 cases increasing on Vancouver Island
