BC Cuts COVID Restrictions. Critics Say It’s Dangerous

British Columbia will drop its major remaining COVID-19 protective measures Friday despite modelling suggesting a sixth wave could send 100  new people to hospital each day by mid-May.

Provincial health officer  Dr. Bonnie Henry also said today that second booster shots will be  available to older and vulnerable people to boost waning immunity.

Quadra Singers hold in-person concert

The Quadra Singers first in-person concert since the beginning of the pandemic was at the Quadra Community Centre on December 10th and 11th. 

“We had almost sold out concerts, both nights. Our tickets went on sale and in Quathiaski Cove’s ‘Inspirations.’ We had pretty well sold out both nights,” said Valerie van Veen, one of the singers.

Though they believe vaccine passports violate Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, anti-vaxers will find this very difficult to prove in court, says a lawyer with UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law.

The key question in this debate is whether vaccine passports are mandated or an option.
