Prince Rupert gets a $3.5 million boost from the return of cruise tourism

After two years without any cruise ships in Prince Rupert due to the COVID-19 pandemic, cruise tourism returned bigger than before.

Between May 17 and Oct. 3, 42 cruise ships with more than 40,000 passengers stopped in the city, the P.R. Port Authority (PRPA) announced.

BC Ferries adds water taxi sailing to their Haida Gwaii schedule to accommodate flight passengers

BC Ferries is adding an evening water taxi sailing to the temporary Alliford Bay (Moresby Island) to Skidegate (Graham Island) schedule in order to accommodate passengers arriving in Sandspit on Air Canada flights.

Motor vehicle crash knocks out internet/cell service to much of Northwest

Some residents in northwest B.C. were without internet and phone service the evening of Oct. 18.

A motor vehicle accident took out several utility poles and caused a break in the Telus fibre optic cable that runs west from Prince George to Prince Rupert.

Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP’s bill to lower voting age blocked by Conservatives, Liberals
