Nova Scotia to lift most COVID-19 restrictions in September

Students may only have to wear masks for a week once schools open across the province on Sept. 7.

Premier Designate Tim Houston and Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang announced the schools reopening plan Monday.

Students will be required to mask up for the first week but with the province projected to move into the fifth phase of the COVID-19 reopening plan on Sept.15, that requirement could be short-lived.

Toronto mayor announces all city staff must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Oct. 30

Toronto mayor John Tory announced on Aug.19 that all staff workers employed by the city are required to be fully vaccinated by Oct.30.

Small COVID-19 outbreak at a Campbell River long-term care home

On Wednesday, August 4, the Vancouver Island Health Authority declared a small COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term seniors’ facility in Campbell River when 3 staff tested positive.
