Upgrading Hoskyn Channel Dock: A photo essay

The occasional grounding of the Hoskyn Channel dock became much more pronounced in September 2018. The stream at the base of the ribbons re-routed itself towards the dock following heavy rains; the up-stream clear-cutting most likely caused the concentrated run-off that moved large rocks and cut a deep channel with stream sediment running directly towards the dock.

Campbell Riverites Must Wear masks on buses

BC Transit is making sure that Campbell Riverites have no excuse to not have masks on buses. On Thursday, Aug. 20, masks will be handed out to passengers in the Campbell River Transit system at two locations – the Community Centre and the Highway 19A/Erickson Exchange – between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Still No Public Transportation To North Island

The Passenger Transportation Board (PTB) has no time frame to make a decision regarding Route 5 bus service between Campbell River and the north Island, stranding locals who rely on bus service to travel down island.

Route 5 is the only pubic transportation option connecting the Tri-Port towns to the rest of Vancouver Island.
