Stats for June 2023

  • Cortes Currents – There were 160,000 web impressions and 2,530 clicks on the web. 4,138 people viewed a total of 8,297 pages. The top 3 nations of origin were Canada (67.73%), United States (22.42%) and American Samoa (1.30%).
    • 25.53% (1,158 viewers) of all web traffic came from our listening area: – 908 users from ‘Not Set’ Area #1 (Rural parts of Greater Campbell River, Comox and Powell River? Beyond that?); 191 from the city of Campbell River; 53 from the city of Powell River; 6 from the city of Comox.
    • The new Google Analytics G4A program identified a smaller ‘not set’ group of 306 visitors, who appear to come from the rural areas surrounding Cortes and Quadra Islands. The precise boundaries of this non-city are unknown, but this would be part of the old ‘Not Set’ Area #1.
    • There was a core of 676 ‘return users,’ 292 (43.2%) of which came more than 26 times ans 49 came more than 200 times. 247 (36.54%) of the return users are from our listening area: ’Not set’ Area #1 – 165 people; Campbell River – 65 people; Powell River 11 people; Comox – 6 people).
    • 47.35% of all return users came through web searches; 29.39% were referred by third party sites (like our e-mailouts or the Tideline); 19.64% came directly to the site; 3.62% were referred by social media (like Facebook).
    • As regards new users: 64.64% came through web searches; 23.47% came directly to the site; 8.72% were referred by third party sites (like the Tideline); 3.17% came via social media (like Facebook).
    • The Google Search console team reported that in June Cortes Currents had 160,000 web impressions, 2,530 clicks on the web and 396 pages with First Page impressions.
  • SoundCloud Podcasts – 1,704 Plays; The top 3 nations of origin were the United States (53.35%), Canada (20,66%), Pakistan (5.57%).  Only 4.75% of traffic came from our broadcast area. 52 plays – ‘Mansons Landing’ (Cortes Island) ; 23 plays – Campbell River; 3 plays – Heriot Bay; 3 plays – Comox 
  • Apple Podcasts – 59 Plays
  • Facebook:The Thursday Afternoon Art Collective brings ‘Between Heaven and Earth’ to the Old Schoolhouse Art Gallery’ had an 811 post reach (between the Cortes Radio and Cortes Currents pages)
  • Radio: I’m guessing 500 people may listen a some point during a month and and a much smaller number on a regular basis.
