September marked the debut of Prince Rupert’s floating Wolverine Terminals energy terminal, which delivered fuel to a cargo ship called Belatlantic.
Belatlantic is 199.9-metre by 32.39-metre bulk carrier sailing under the flag of Norway. It arrived from China, was fuelled up at the Wolverine terminal, and was loaded with Canadian wheat to be sold in international markets.

Some were listening to Andy Ellingsen, a Director of Harbour Authority Cortes Island (HACI), talk about the current condition of the wharf and what needs to be done. Others gathered in small groups, eating the free pizza, sharing memories or their perspectives on the matter. HACI has owned the 110-year-old structure since 2009 and now it is in need of extensive repairs.

A West Coast fish farm was hit with a $350,000 fine for illegally operating a steelhead salmon farm in Lois Lake, near Powell River.
West Coast Fishculture (Lois Lake) Ltd pleaded guilty Thursday in Powell River Provincial Court to operating without a license under the Fisheries Act after knowingly operating its fish farm outside the bounds of its aquaculture tenure.
