Proposed Campbell River Bylaw Amendment for Nuisance Lighting

On January 9, 2025, Campbell River’s City Council gave first and second readings to a public nuisance amendment bylaw intended to prevent floodlighting, spotlighting and directional lighting from shining beyond the properties they protect onto residential areas. Council is giving the public to respond in writing before making a decision. 

Bylaw Services Manager (SM) Karl Read pointed out that it has been a year since Paula Burque asked the city to remedy this matter.

Vancouver intends to be obtain 100% of its’ electricity from renewable sources by 2050. This is quite a jump from the 31% usage today and involves conservation as well as incorporating new energy sources. One of the firms that make 100% possible is Kambo Green Solutions, which provides businesses with solutions to lower their energy needs.

How 204 US mayors spent their stimulus money

As part of the economic stimulus package five years ago, Congress allotted $3.2 billion for Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants (EECBG) to be spent by local governments. 204 US mayors filled out questionnaires explaining how that money was spent in their cities.
