Youth in historic climate case get their day in Ontario court

It’s been a long time coming, but the seven young people who sued the Ontario government after Doug Ford dismantled the province’s climate policies and downgraded its emissions targets will finally get their day in court this week.

Just a day in the lab seeking COVID in sewage

The laboratory in a downtown Toronto university building is under construction, its emergency wash station getting an upgrade, but the daily testing of incoming wastewater samples for COVID-19 goes on unabated.

Samples arrive in Nalgene-sized bottles from sites all over the city — large treatment plants and community and congregate sites, such as university residences, shelters and long-term care homes — and Nora Dannah has to walk down to shipping and receiving to collect them.

Colleges get set to train Canada’s green workforce

Greenpeace targets RBC for its fossil fuel financing

Two Greenpeace activists were hoisted above the entrance to the Royal Bank of Canada’s Bay Street [Toronto] headquarters on Tuesday, part of a sustained campaign to get the country’s banks to divest from fossil fuel projects and respect Indigenous rights.
