The images are familiar now, iconic even: Heavily armed RCMP officers use an axe and a chainsaw to break down the  door of a tiny house. 

Indigenous land defenders, their faces  marked with red handprints to symbolize Missing and Murdered Indigenous  Women and Girls, stand inside with arms raised as police aim  high-calibre rifles at them.

RCMP arrest journalists, matriarchs and land defenders following Gidimt’en eviction of Coastal GasLink

RCMP arrested two journalists, including photojournalist Amber Bracken, on assignment for The Narwhal, during police enforcement of a Coastal GasLink injunction in northwest B.C. Friday.

Over 90 complaints about police misconduct at Fairy Creek received says RCMP watchdog

There’s been over 90 complaints filed about police actions at the Fairy Creek logging blockade since June 25.

Kate McDerby, director of strategic communications and outreach for the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP (CRCC), confirmed 25 of those complaints are currently being investigated.

Concerns mount about democracy infringement by police at Fairy Creek blockades

Representatives from a Victoria group of seniors called Elders for Ancient Trees held a press conference Friday to discuss ongoing RCMP disregard for a BC Supreme Court ruling, which reiterated that the police have no authority to obstruct lawful access to the Fairy Creek blockade area.
