Other Pro-Wet’suwet’en protests

There were at least three other pro-Wet’suwet’en protests in our area, in addition to the Feb 12, 2020, demonstration in Campbell River. The smallest was probably on Cortes, but it was the easiest for me to attend. I only learned of the events at the Tyee Plaza and in Courtenay days after they were over.

Sierra Quadra: A Time For Community Resilience

Sierra Quadra is in the midst of a three part campaign on the Climate Crises And Community Resilience. This kicked off last month, with a showing of the film “Beyond Climate’ at the Quadra Island Community Centre and there are upcoming panel discussions on February 29 and March 28, 2020. Campbell River Climate March

More than four million people participated in the Global Climate strike on Friday, September 20, 2019. There were over 2,500 separate events, on all seven continents. At least two of these were in our area. Five hundred signatures were collected at the Campbell River Climate March and close to fifty people gathered to show their support on Cortes Island.
