3,419 people made 8,223 pageviews (PV); 626 Returning Viewers; average ‘Tideline’ session 6m 24s; Podcasts – 1282 plays.

This is the fourth month in a row where the average Cortes Currents post achieved first page Google search results in Canada. A total of 1,863 posts were accessed. This includes another 35 views of Terminal Upgrade Plan: BC Ferries Consults Cortes Residents which now has an aggreagte count of 765.

The top 3 posts of the month were: 

  1. 236 views of Brian Scott, Sherman Barker & Isabelle LaPlante: on the Cortes Experience (averaging 6m 25s per session)
  2. 170 views of Proposed Conservation Area In The Mansons Bay Forest (averaging 1m 47s per session)

As a result of a plugin issue, I had to return to Google Analytics which stated. 

  • 1,849 people came through searches on the web (averaging 1m 41s per session). From past reports we know these were mostly Google searches. 
  • 997 people came directly to the website (averaging 2m 22s per session) 
  • 456 people came via third party websites (averaging 6m 24s) We know these were mostly Tideline & this referrer’s numbers most closely match (Greater) Campbell River, below.
  • 25 people came through social media (averaging 37s)

Visitors came from 73 nations, the top 5 of which were:

  1. Canada – 2,563 people averaging 2m 58s per session
  2. United States – 515 people, averaging 1m 06s per session
  3. United Kingdom – 68 people averaging 1m 13ss
  4. Germany – 29 people, averaging 1m 15s
  5. Australia – 22 people, averaging 24s

    • Campbell River – 349 people, averaging 5m 19s per session. This is the profile most closely matching that of Tideline referrals. (Cortes and Quadra Island are in Greater Campbell River)
    • Undesignated rural area (‘not set’), assumed to be within CKTZ’s listening area because of consistantly high duration per session – 260 people, averaging 3m 01s per session.
    • Powell River – 52 people, averaging 1m 53s
    • Comox – 16 people, averaging 4m 53s 
  2. Vancouver – 609 people, averaging 2m 15s per session
  3. Toronto – 132 people – av 45s per session
  4. Victoria – 122 people – av 3m 47s per session
