Cortes Going Into Slowdown
As of yesterday’s press conference, there were 16 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Vancouver Island Health Region. The closest known case is two ferry rides away in Campbell River. The Province of British Columbia declared a state of emergency for the next 14 days, which may be extended or rescinded as necessary. There are many reports of Cortes going into slowdown.

B.C. has declared a public health emergency to stem the spread of COVID-19, closing all bars and curtailing restaurant service, as well as suspending K-12 schooling indefinitely.

COVID-19: The Good News
The good news is from China, where the COVID-19 virus was first reported and the World Health Organization claims the disease has been stopped. While there were 21 new cases reported yesterday, all but one of these was returning travellers.
