Election 2020: The Wet’suwet’en conflict

This past winter/spring – the conflict between Coastal Gaslink pipeline the BC government and the Wetsuweten Nation resulted in nation-wide solidarity actions and mass protest. The issue was not resolved and protest was quieted by the pandemic.

Fact check: NDP Claims About Conservative Attendance Record Exaggerated, But …

According to our Member of Parliament, Rachel Blaney, the Conservatives had the worst attendance record of any party at the hybrid COVID-19 Committee meetings. One of her staff pointed to the committee minutes, where I added up the number of Liberal, Conservative, NDP and Green MPs for ten of the twenty-one days. Some of the NDP claims about Conservative attendance record are exaggerated, but they point to an obvious truth.

NDP Surge Forward In Vancouver Island Voter Projections

A week ago, 338Canada’s projections showed Green candidates leading in five of Vancouver Island’s seven ridings. The situation map displayed two colours: green and (Conservative) blue. As of October 7, orange is once again prominent as the NDP surge forward to take the lead in three ridings.
