Campbell River-Quadra Island’s second hybrid electric Ferry launched
The fourth of BC Ferries Island Class ferry was launched early Thursday morning, at Damen Shipyards Galati, in Romania. The yet-to-be named ship is the second hybrid electric destined for the Campbell River – Quadra Island route.

Campbell River trial run of new Island Class hybrid-electric vessels
One of BC Ferries new Island Class Hybrid electric vessels starts a three day trial run on the Campbell River – Quadra Island route on Thursday, Dec 3. The Island Aurora will undergoing tests for operational efficiencies, loading times and sailing intervals. The results will be used to help draw up schedules for 2021.
